Clint and Grant George, a father/son team, started producing metal art as a hobby five years ago. It was not until two years ago that they started their business Iron Indian, which produces custom artwork made with scrap steel and copper.
When asked what Iron Indian can make, Clint’s reply is, “If you can draw it, or imagine it, it can be built.” Hence, this metalwork business has produced everything from functional metalwork to ornamental art. Some of Iron Indian’s products include metal furniture, display cabinets, gates, and outdoor cooking grates. But, it is their customized designs and artwork that make this business unique.
Iron Indian has designed and created war shields, head-dresses, spears, eagles, peace pipes, and even flower bouquets---all out of metal!
Grant George, already an experienced welder, taught his son Clint to weld at the age of 12. What began as repairs on vehicles and tools evolved into building customized motorbikes. With Clint and Grant both having extensive artistic backgrounds, their vision for their metalwork naturally grew.
Years ago, Clint and Grant built their first steel art piece, a functional steel arrow. They realized at that point that if he could build an arrow, why not a spear? And if they could build a spear, why not a war shield? From these questions, Clint and Grant soon realized that they could build anything they put their mind to.
